Jbay Open Finals 2015

This is the day that nearly broke the internet! Mick Fanning (Aus) had a shark encounter in the finals (with Julian Wilson) of the 2015 Jbay Open. Your mother and I was watching the contest from the beach as we suddenly heard the commentators scream " get out of the water!" "water patrol!". At that moment a wave was running through the inside, and for a couple of seconds (what felt like minutes) we were standing with our mouthes open, waiting to see what had just happend. (Not hoping for the worst) The water patrol boat (and later the ski) was there within seconds! Spectators standing in awww... Anyway.. he lived to tell the story. Shows you how fortunate we are to be walking the beach after every session.  

It's all about family

Once in your lifetime you get lucky and stumble upon a person so perfect for you that you instantly know that you can spend a lifetime with this person.

Meet our little family (So far). Left Heinrich (Dad), Middle Bella (Our first dog) and on the right your mother René. 

We would like to document our wonderful life together and hope to one day look back at all the amazing things we did together.

The above picture showcases our little stroll to the beach with little Bella. It is mid winter and relatively cold (as you will notice). We are currently living in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa and recently bought a small house two minutes walk away from where we are standing in the picture above.
